Which Doctor Who characters will return?

Doctor Who: The Ninth Doctor’s granddaughter Sarah Jane Smith is returning as the ninth Doctor’s companion.

She will join David Tennant, Jenna Coleman and Peter Capaldi in the next series.

The first series will begin filming on the BBC2 show in 2018.

In the UK, The Doctor will continue to appear on BBC One, while in the US, the series will be directed by Matt Smith.

Doctor Who: Clara Oswald is coming to the show, as will Matt Smith’s Clara Oswald.

But the BBC’s latest incarnation of the Time Lord is not returning to the sci-fi series.
